Holborne is a brand of the Swiss company Swiss Analog AG.
The first product is the Holborne Analog 3 turntable with the unique DualPivot tonearm.

Further on we will introduce other tonearms, cartridges, a phono amplifier, an integrated amplifier, pre- and power amplifiers.

All products are consistently “made in Switzerland”, only a few parts are supplied by specialist companies from Europe.

This Swiss turntable is absolutely world class, but it doesn’t cost the earth: it is based on the ideas off the ingenious Swiss engineer and musician Meinrad Müller, which we at Swiss Analog have consistently developed further. And, in our opinion, we have perfected it into a fascinating product.

• Belt-driven inertia drive
• Opto-electronic speed control and regulation
• Extremely smooth-running motor from Maxon in Switzerland. Maxon is not cheap, but probably builds some of the best motors for their applications
• Penibel selected drive belt: We spent countless hours listening to this alone in the Swiss Analog listening room. Wow and Flatter <0.08% (Din).
• High-precision ground, 3.2 kilogram acrylic platter
• Extremely tightly toleranced, magnetically relieved bearing in which a ruby ball rotates on a tungsten carbide mirror.
• Each bearing is individually checked, assembled and cleaned and regreased after a 48-hour running-in phase to ensure smooth running.

DualPivot tonarm is standard in the HOLBORNE Analog 3 (without cartridge).

• The DualPivot tonearm is a world-wide unique combination of single-point pivot bearing and ball bearing, combining the low friction of a single-point bearing with the wobble stability of a gimbal bearing.
• A “sliding” second bearing point perfectly stabilizes the wobble tendency of the arm. Nine-inch carbon tube with specially selected damping made of Ortho-Sorbotan.
• Headshell optionally made of aluminum or steel.
• Vertical scanning angle (tonearm height) and azimuth individually adjustable.
• Very flexible tracking force adjustment thanks to several counterweights.
• Can be used almost universally for most cartridges.

We listened to the Analog 3 Silver in different system configurations, with different tells and with different styles of music. The result always remained the same in decisive points: fantastic smoothness, seamless dynamics and rock-solid spatial imaging. In other words, everything you would expect from a top turntable and a top tonearm. Expectations more than fulfilled – Chapeau!

The constructional quality of the Analog 3 is evident from the very first notes: it has this majestic quietness that is otherwise only found in much larger mass turntables. …. Super! ….. This is exactly how something like this should sound! The brand new HOLBORNE Analog 3 meets the highest demands in terms of both feel and sound. The device is free of airs and graces, works perfectly, sounds completely superior and conveys just the right amount of understatement.

After a short playing time, there was already so much life, so much unaffected artistry to be heard that even at low levels one could speak of a masterpiece…. such a gripping and intense atmosphere that you felt as if you were being looked after by a sinfully expensive tube combination….. With its lightning-fast attack and precise yet powerful thundering bass, the Passion also cut an excellent figure as a rocker. And thus music with PASSION all along the line.
